Halloween??? Ohhhh Yes!

Halloween always starts early at our house...really early. My kids actually had our front door decorated for Halloween Mid-August. I know, that is really early...but we Looove Halloween! All of the spooky decorations, the dressing up as someone else, it is a blast! So, I have been trolling the web for some cute and easy Halloween Ideas. I figure i will find them, and then when we actually try them out, I will share them with the rest of you. (along with our experience of making them..good...or bad). So, to start things out, I will show you all our front door decoration. This photo is of the door in the daytime, I will try to get a night time pic when I charge my camera battery...and I am obviously a procrastinator...giggle... giggle... Oh, and by the way...Crayola Window Markers, 8 pack, $4.00. Can't beat that!

Also...If you're Lovin' my blog...or even liking it a little, please feel free to subscribe!

Success!!

Yess!!! I actually stayed up yesterday morning...all morning! Okay, so I don't need a cookie, or a pat on the back, but it sure feels good to have accomplished so much. I started out the morning with my blog, and then actually created my own Android App for my blog, LINK TO ANDROID APP DOWNLOAD ,which is awesome! Then I created that QR code that you see below as a link to my website (which you should feel free to check out as often as you like, hint..hint, lol) http://a4dablesouthernchic.ecrater.com/ And to top it all off, I actually did what felt like 200 loads of laundry, and cleaned house a little. Oh yeah, and watched my new favorite show, Weeds, while I was doing all of that.  Okay, so maybe it wasn't 200 loads of laundry, probably more like 6 or 7...but it felt like a lot more than that for sure. Phew! Sure feels good to have accomplished so much in one day. Oh yeah, and I found out I am going to be babysitting out of my home for one of my best friends in the world, D, and this is great news because we will have a little extra income, and I will get to see my friend and her adorable little kiddos a lot more often now. Can't wait to fill you all in tomorrow on my day at the kids' school, TTYL!

Best Laid Plans...

Ooookay, so my BIG PLAN didn't exactly go, well, as planned. I did stay up for a while yesterday, and got some things done. But then I walked into my bedroom and saw my hubby, who's only day off happens to be Wednesday, sleeping so peacefully. Well, needless to say, I crawled right in bed with him and fell asleep. So on day 1, my plan was a flop. But today... I will stay up and be productive. I am actually giggling as I write this, because I am hoping I can stick to it. I guess I feel like if I am actually typing this, and real people can see it, then it holds me accountable if I don't succeed. Aside from my big plan failure, there is open house at the kids' school tonite, so I am really looking forward to seeing what they are going to be learning this year, and getting to know their teachers a little bit better. My youngest, Z, is also excited because tomorrow I go to help out in his classroom with their "centers". Not so sure yet what that entails, but I am sure it will be fun. I think I will eat lunch with the two little ones tomorrow, since I will already be there. They have been begging since the first day of school for me to come and eat lunch with them. I think it is just because they get to choose a friend to eat with them and go up on the stage, which I hear, is really cool. Well, I am off to be "productive". Wish me luck...

Thoughts on becoming ......30, ouch!

It has recently hit me that I am going to be...I guess I can say it...30. I have to give my DH props because when he saw my face as I began typing this blog he ever so sweetly said, "But honey, why are you so depressed about turning 24??". Twenty-four, that is what age I like to tell people I still am, and my children, bless their hearts, tell everyone that is how old I am too. I think the reason I picked 24 is because it was my favorite age to be...not old, but yet not still "a kid". It was how old I was when I met my husband, and also the age I was when I really began to truly settle down. 24...that was such a great year. Now I am facing the impending doom of becoming 30. Everyone is telling me it is no big deal, it is not that bad....yeah right! I can remember my own mother's thirtieth birthday, and I also remember how OLD she seemed to me. At that time I could never imagine myself actually being that old....To Be Continued...

Hey Everybody!!

I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Heather. I have a wonderful, supportive, and very hard-working husband, J. I also have four beautiful children: "D" who is my fourteen year-old step-son, "A" who is my 12 year-old son, "H" she is our only little girl, and last but not least, "Z" our youngest boy. My family has inspired me in so many ways, that I felt I should share them with all of you. We have had a lifetime full of hilarious stories, hard times, good times, and many, many, great ideas. I am going to use this blog as a personal family journal, and hopefully a good source of information, tips, ideas, and links for other loving, frugal moms like myself. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you find something that interests you.
